  Thanks for this. I have known of the tune for some time and suppose it relates to the daughter of Sir Simon Carruthers. I will try to learn more.

    I believe Jeannie Carruthers was the sister of Mrs. John MacColl. So she was John’s sister-in-law.

  There is a tune discrepancy on the 3rd part. The lead-in to the 2nd repeat has too many notes, instead of the 4 bars note there are written 5, and no indication not to repeat it. I found this confusing when learning this tune.
