Ernest Craig-Brown was born in Selkirk, Scotland in 1871. A Cameron Highlander, he fought and was decorated in India and South Africa at the turn of the century, In 1921 he became Commanding Officer of the 1st Camerons in India. He was a piper, and a member of the Royals Scottish Pipers Society. He retired in 1925 and died at 95 in 1966. (Notes from David Murray writing in the ‘Piping Times,’ December 2003.)
