Laura’s Lucky Day

When one of the Shotts pipers, Mike Dear, announced the date of his wedding, he described it as “Laura’s lucky day.” Laura is also a piper in the band. On Saturday, November 1st, 2003, Laura MacKenzie and Mike Dear were married in the granite city, Aberdeen, Scotland. For the sake of the man’s feelings and his ego, I left the tune title as it is, but all the guests and the whole pipe band world know that this tune should be called ‘Mike’s Lucky Day.’ – R.
