  • I enjoyed this music. I have been looking at information available of the internet about the Katherine Marjorie Murray, Marchionness of Tullibardine, who opened the suspension bridge in Pitlochry, Scotland in 1913. I was pleased to find this music. I was recently visiting Scotland and spent a couple of delightful day in Pitlochry.
Was this music written for this particular marchioness? And when was it written?

    • This tune was published first in the late 1890s fully formed as a competition march and with no composer listed. This would suggest it had been around well before this. Seems to me I read something on this not too long ago. I can’t mind where, but I believe it was a different Marchionness. If anyone else can shed any more light on this it would be great to hear from you. JM
