A lovely modern competition march. Tommy Macdonald was the nephew of Mrs. Macdonald of Dunach, the subject of Willie Lawrie’s famous march, which appears elsewhere on this site. The sound file is played by the composer.

  • Is this the original setting, and if so in what book was it originally published? I’m asking because both Gordon Walker and Alasdair Gillies plays it quite differently (and both the same).

    • Hi Sven:

Actually, yes, this setting was taken directly from Bruce Thomson’s self-published book, “The Pass of Brander,” with permission.
      Cheers,
      Jim
